Pebble Creek Junior Team (formerly known as Mini Mites)!

We are excited to introduce the Pebble Creek Junior Swim Team, this is a new program that will replace and expand upon the Mini Mite Program!

What is the Pebble Creek Junior Team? Junior Swim team is designed to provide a welcoming atmosphere for new swimmers of all ages.

Who is eligible for Junior Team? Kids of all ages who are new to swim team, can swim, but they are not quite ready to compete in a swim meet. This can be for any number of reasons.  For example: they aren’t strong enough swimmers to get all the way across the pool on their own, or they are a little apprehensive when it comes to swimming in a meet.

Junior Team members are full members of the swim team and will participate Junior Team events in all home swim meets.

How do I know if my child is ready for the Pebble Creek Junior Team?

  • Your child must be able to swim, the Junior Team program is not the same as swim lessons for non-swimmers.
  • They should be comfortable putting their head in the water with goggles on.
  • They should be comfortable with physical separation from parent/guardian and an ability to follow instructor directions.

Still not sure?  No worries, the swim team will schedule evaluations at the beginning of the season for the potential Junior Team Members, where you will have the opportunity to speak with the coaching staff while they evaluate your swimmer.  We will also have the board and members of the coaching staff at our Open House to answer any questions you may have.

Coach in Training (CIT) Program

The Coach in Training (CIT) program is an opportunity for our older swimmers to help with the team while earning volunteer hours for school or other youth programs.

The CIT program is limited to swimmers who are:

  • Active members of the swim team
  • 13 and older

CITs are our swimmers who kids in younger age groups look up too, model after and take instruction from.  An interest form will be sent out to all members and there will be a meeting for those interested with the Head Coach at Open House.

If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact the Pebble Creek Swim Team Board at PCSTBoard@gmail.com.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the pool!
